David V.
Private tutor in Redwood City, CA
Education
BS, Mathematics and Physics, MIT (GPA 4.7/5.0, graduated 2003) MD, UCLA (graduated 2013) PhD, Applied Physics, Caltech (graduated 2011)
Experience
I have significant teaching and tutoring experience. At MIT, I was a tutor for the department of mathematics and the department of minority education. I've taught a number of courses at the collegiate level from graduate level physics courses to freshman biology. Some of my scientific exploits have been covered in press releases and by some semi-notable bloggers (eg http://www.caltech.edu/news/physics-going-viral-4211, http://spectrum.mit.edu/articles/skipping-ahead/) On a personal note, I am very passionate about the transformative role math, science, and education can play in the lives of young people (I would know, I've lived it myself!). Unfortunately my current position doesn't involve much time to teach, which is why I've been drawn to University Tutor.
